The West Yorkshire Harpist - Harpist
The West Yorkshire Harpist is a unique, dynamic harpist playing like you've never heard it before! Designing and making her own exquisite harps, and with "rings on her fingers and bells on her toes" her music has a mesmeric, individual sound.
Using classical, folk and Latin Jazz influences, The West Yorkshire Harpist arranges and composes music that holds her audiences spellbound with fascinating historical anecdotes which span cultures from the dawn of civilisation right up to her present day Dales roots.
Playing modern and period harp she has costumes to match any occasion.
“Magnificent - she has to be seen to be believed” BBC Television
"Hard to imagine its just one woman and her harp making that sound" Jenny Murray, BBC Radio
The West Yorkshire Harpist does NOT use any backing material whatsoever - the sounds you hear are all created by her including the drumming. Wearing Rings on her fingers and bells on her ankles she is able to produce a mesmerising sound which is a pleasure to hear.
