Barn Dance Bands or Ceilidh Bands are a really popular choice for rustic weddings and they bring everyone together whatever their age! They make for a fun and sociable evening and are a great ice-breaker when guests don't know each other.
Wedding Barn Dance Bands will include a dance caller who will organise everyone into lines or circles and teach everyone how to perform the set dances.
Don't worry if only a handful of your guests know how to Spin the Willow or Do-Si-Do their partner - the caller will show everyone what to do.
Barn Dance Bands and Ceilidh Bands can offer English, Scottish Welsh and Irish music and usually consist of fiddles, accordions, guitars and maybe whistles/flutes, banjos, mandolins.
Get your check shirts and cowboy hats out for an American Mid-West style Hoedown where guests are organised in a similar manner with a live band (this is not the same as square dancing or line dancing).
Barn Dance Bands will usually do 2 or 3 sets of organised dancing and some may offer a 3rd set of tunes without the caller giving your guests a chance to rest their feet and catch up with friends and family.
