Keltika - Irish Band

This Irish band are based in Nottingham and are available for weddings and events across the Midlands and beyond and can be booked with a caller for Ceilidhs.

The richness provided by the accordion, powerful rhythm guitar and bodhran give a fullness of sound that belies the number of people on stage and with a repertoire encompassing fast and furious Celtic songs and tunes, gentle ballads and quality contemporary numbers by the likes of Christy Moore, Eric Bogle and Ewan MacColl as well as some original material, this East Midlands based band are one of the most sought after on the circuit.

The band was formed in 1983 with our vocalist, Tony, being one of the original line-up. Since then, they have played to audiences including 40,000 people at the Glasgow Mayfest, 25,000 at the Heineken Big Top with The Pogues, a Chateau in France for a very exclusive birthday party and to 6 people in a kitchen for a family celebration as well as just about every other type of event you can imagine in between!

Some of the more memorable venues the band have played at include The Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham, The Alexandra Palace, London, Stowe School, Buckingham, Camden Irish Centre, London, Kilburn Irish Centre, London, Rock City, Nottingham, Celtic Supporters Club, Glasgow, Leicester Tigers Stadium, Leicester, The Hammersmith Apollo, London.

They have also played the end of tour parties for the Threepenny Opera and Reasons To Be Cheerful theatre productions and the end of shoot parties for a couple of ITV series as well as being filmed as part of the story lines!

2016 saw the band undertake their first tour of Thailand, playing everywhere from bars to schools, performing at private parties and also for the Irish Ambassador. Their time in Thailand was a great success and they are already booked to go back for a second tour in 2017!

The band have recorded 12 albums as well as individual band members appearing on many, many more.

Bookings are undertaken with a flexible line-up from a three-piece band up to a five-piece band. Instrumentation includes vocals, guitar, button accordion, melodeon, bodhran, fiddle, whistles, banjo and mandolin depending on the line-up booked. In addition, when playing for Ceilidhs and Barn Dances, they always bring along a caller who works wonders at getting people involved in fun, easy traditional dances.

The band are available for festivals, folk clubs, pubs and clubs as well as all types of private functions, including weddings!

Keltika - Irish Band Feedback

They were awesome, they were on time, they made sure the dance floor was big enough, helped sort the running order of the night but most importantly the music, vocals and calling were faultless. They made sure we had a great night, much fun and it was unforgettable! Thank you Keltika, thoroughly recommend you!

Rosie Dixon, , Party (November 2018)

Thank you so much for playing at The Great Burton Bake Off and Beer Festival last Sunday! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it and have been talking about you all ever since!! Will be booking you again! Lots of love from everyone at BoBo?s Coffee Shop.

Charlotte Denton, BoBo's Coffee Shop

Thank you so much for playing at our wedding. You were brilliant and so patient with us! So many of our guests have remarked how much they loved it- from the 20 year olds to the 70 year olds, all loved it and joined in, which is exactly what we wanted. Even the hip-hop fans who normally grumble at anything else were up having a whale of a time. We appreciated you expertise and advice and would recommend you to others. We hope you enjoyed playing and we're sorry the rugby score was not better!

Nic & Vin,

Thank you - we had a fantastic foot tapping, hand clapping, seat dancing evening on Saturday last. Please come back soon.

Ann, Keith, Diane, Derrick,

I cannot thank you enough for the most fantastic night I think I might have had in all my fifty years! I have not stopped smiling since. A dream come true for me to have you guys playing in my garden and as the song goes- You couldn't have come at a better time!!

Pete James,

Hi, Hope you're all well! Just a quick email to let you know my appreciation for both your music and your passion shown at the weekend. You played at my partners grandparents party on Saturday evening and I must say both I and everyone attending was absolutely blown away by you guys! I will definitely be contacting you in the future to book again. All the best for the new year!

Will T.,

Wow, what a sound you have! We thoroughly enjoyed having you perform at our wedding last week and all our guests had a great time. So much dancing and fun was had by all, and literally everyone commented on what a wonderful choice we made in inviting you as our guest band. Weddings don't always go to plan and in our case a crucial lead broke on our ipad for the party music, and the band came to the rescue and very kindly donated their lead so we could finish off the party. Such talented lovely people so I very much recommend the band and we are looking forward to seeing you perform at another event in the future!!

Lara,

We had an amazing time and everyone has said how much they enjoyed it. Even a couple of friends who were very sceptical of Ceilidhs were won over and had a great time! One of my American friends who had no experience of folk music just walked up to me and said 'This is the best thing since....just the best.

Hannah & Simon,

We just wanted to say thank you to yourself and the band for being part of our big day. You were absolutely superb from start to finish and as you could probably tell from all the dancing, our guests absolutely loved all your music too! You got people up there dancing who I've never seen on a dance floor before. We've had nothing but compliments about what a great idea it was to have you perform at the wedding. Thank you again, we will never forget it!

Rob Clarke,

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you and the rest of the band for such an amazing evening. Everyone absolutely loved your ceilidh and it was so much fun. We'll definitely be recommending you! Many thanks again,

Zoe & James,

We wanted to write to you to say a big thank you to the band for a wonderful, memorable day that made our wedding day unforgettable! Everyone enjoyed the music and the dancing. Even the left footed miseries got up to have a go, driven by your music and the attitude of the band. Pete particularly loved The Greenfields of France and The Tweed. He?s been singing them for days, driving me crazy! We understand that you?ll be playing at The National Forest Folk Club in Moira on the 14th March, we?ve already got our tickets booked. Our son, Jez, will be getting married very soon, he never rushes any decisions, and we?d all love the band to play for him and Faye. They think that you?re brilliant too! We?ll let you know the date. We can?t think of any one else that would have made our day so wonderful, (except Rod Stewart in person for Sue!), so thank you once again. It would not have been the same without you all! We look forward to seeing you soon. Meanwhile, keep up the good work!

Pete and Sue Cole,, Leicestershire

Tonight was the best, most perfect combination of instruments and musicians I have heard you do, such beautiful harmony and haunting sounds. Thank you x

H Skinner,

They were absolutely cracking!! What a great way to spend a Friday night - and we feel too energised by the atmosphere and the music to go to bed!!! Thank you for a fabulous night!!

Margaret H,

Thank you for another great St Patrick's evening. Always on top form. Love you guys

Alana,

I have personally known this band for more years than sometimes I want to remember. (I think about 25!). They have performed many times in all three establishments associated with my long career as a licensee. In addition, I have watched & listened to their music in numerous Castle Rock Pub outlets, in my capacity as director of said company. The band exhibit the kind of professional approach to their audience, no matter how big or small the venue, that would be an example to many other performers I have witnessed over the years. Playing with real passion, skill and flare, they embrace their audience into their world of Celtic music like no other. During their distinguished career, they have built up a seemingly endless repertoire of songs and tunes from their Celtic roots, and therefore every set played to faithful followers tends to be unique! All the members of this great band, both past and present, have become personal friends of mine and long may it continue. I have no hesitation in recommending Keltus to any establishment or agency.

Neil Kelso, Managing Director, Hands On Pub Co Ltd, , The Victoria at Beeston
