The Xenia String Quartet
This Bristol string quartet is a well-established quartet with years of experience playing at weddings and corporate functions in Bristol, Bath, Cardiff, Somerset and across the South West.
Having played at in excess of 700 events you can be sure of the highest standard of performance - they can provide the perfect accompaniment to your special day, whether it be a wedding, corporate event or private party.
With an ever increasing repertoire of over 800 pieces we can help create the perfect atmosphere for any event; from a small intimate wedding to a large corporate function.
The Violinist studied at Trinity College of Music, London, and at the Royal Welsh College of Music, Cardiff. He is currently working as a freelance violinist based in Somerset, and has been booked by many clients including the BBC and Channel 4. He also teaches the violin at various schools throughout North Somerset.
The Cellist studied at Bath Spa University with Ruth Zagni, and at the Royal Welsh College of Music with Richard May. She now works as a freelance cellist, performing in local orchestras and ensembles including Bath Philharmonia. She has also toured China with the London-based Amadeus Orchestra. As a session musician, she has worked with bands including Kula Shaker and performs regularly with Bristol-based singer/songwriter Phil King. She is also a pianist, and has recorded for an ITV production of Jane Austen’s ‘Persuasion’. An experienced accompanist, she works at all levels from grade exams to recitals.
The Viola player studied at Bath Spa University and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff. In Cardiff she studied with Yu Yasuraoka and at Bath Spa University she studied with Lorna Osbon and Adrian Eales. She freelances for several local orchestras, and as a session musician she has recorded with artists such as Rose Kemp, Benjamin Brunel, Jim Moray, Jane Taylor and Rob Bray to name but a few. She has performed for the opening of the Bath International Music Festival for the past two years and performs regularly in Bath and Bristol. She is also busy teaching viola and violin to enthusiastic adults and children in Bath.
2nd Violinist studied at the Royal Welsh College of Music with Peter Hanson and Iwona Boesche, and in Australia with Elizabeth Holliwell. Whilst studying, she led the Bute String Quartet, and played with the BBC National Orcestra of Wales on a placement scheme for two years. She is now teaching privately from her home in Somerset and leading workshops for adults with learning difficulties and autism.
They also have several standby members who play with the quartet in the event of one or more of their regular members being unavailable. These musicians have all played with the Bristol String Quartet on numerous occasions, so the high standard of performance will not be affected.

The wedding was a great success and the sun shone all day! Thank you for your organisation of the string quartet, who were very professional. They first set up in the hall and played prior to the ceremony and were good enough to incorporate a request from me for the bride's entry. After the ceremony they set up outside and played while the guests enjoyed the sunshine and waited for the wedding meal. I was very pleased and would recommend them to anyone. First class all round
