The West Midlands Bollywood Harpist - Bollywood Harpist

The West Midlands Bollywood Harpist studied the harp and Celtic harp at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama with Sanchia Pielou, a founder member and principal harpist with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra for fifty years and regarded as the 'doyen' of the harp in Scotland.

After winning the subject prize for harp and earning a glowing report in the Governors' Recital Competition, she graduated in 1984 with a BA in Music Performance.

She also plays European classical and traditional music which you can hear on her other profile page: Midlands Wedding Harpist

After highly acclaimed performances of Mozart's Concerto for flute and harp, A Ceremony of Carols, (Britten's solo harp and choral work), and programmes of Opera with the RSAMD's drama department, she went on to perform Ravel's Introduction and Allegro for harp, flute, clarinet and string quartet. This was immediately followed by an invitation from Scottish Ballet to join the orchestra as principal harpist in 1985.

The West Midlands Bollywood Harpist is happy to play at events with up to 200 guests and can provide an amplifier suitable for this number. If you have more than 200 guests then she can be booked to perform in the foyer or entrance as guests are arriving.

Please appreciate that she doesn't play her harp outdoors, so an outdoor ceremony wouldn't work for her. However, for your drinks reception she could sit just inside open patio doors and use her amplifier, depending on the layout of the venue.

The West Midlands Bollywood Harpist - Bollywood Harpist Feedback

Thank you ever so much for performing at our wedding on Saturday. We really loved the ceremony and the music made it so much more special. We would also like to thank you for starting the music earlier - we know you started performing earlier than planned and that was really kind of you. We will of course be recommending you if anyone needs a harpist!

Nisha Bakrania & Guy, Normanton Church, Rutland Water, Wedding Ceremony (October, 2017)

Mary was amazing at our Walima reception and all our guests were astounded by her wonderful and magical harp playing. She truly was a delight and the wedding wouldn't have been so beautiful without her.

Hussain & Bisma, Birmingham, Walima Reception (July, 2016)

Amazing music. Had a great time with Mary playing the harp at my brothers wedding, last weekend. Bollywood tunes, amazing surroundings, and great weather... It was a fabulous day, thanking you for being a part of it. X

Thanks again for Saturday, it was amazing. Reena is telling everyone about your playing. Thanks also for staying longer than you we're supposed to and for learning that song from scratch too. (Hey Shona, from Ta Ra Rum Pum).I can't thank you enough.

Shuaib Moulavi,

We would like to thank you for playing so beautifully at our wedding. Our guests were particularly taken by how well you played the Veer Zara piece that we had requested. We really enjoyed your performance and would like to thank you for contributing to making our day so special.

Navjoat and Sangeeta Sahota,

Thank you ever so much for the lovely, and greatly complimented, music you performed for our Civil Partnership. You provided exactly what we had hoped for and made our ceremony so memorable.
