Swing Guitars - Jazz Guitar Duo
Guitarist 1
His ability to blend in or take centre stage makes his performances ideal for many occasions. He can provide a genuine touch of class and create a subtle, atmospheric environment for listeners and diners alike. He plays classic songs from a classic era and has a particular gift with soothing jazz standards by the likes of Rogers & Hart, Gershwin, Duke Ellington and Django Reinhardt. Fast gaining a reputation as one of the South of England's top up and coming jazz guitarists his command of the guitar is not limited to jazz and he has studied numerous musical styles, traveling much of Europe, the Caribbean, Brazil and beyond including critically acclaimed sets in France, Spain and Turkey.
In recent years he has played a variety of weddings and corporate functions as well as performing at many jazz and other music festivals including Ealing, Swanage, Hayling Island and Glasgow.
Guitarist 2
This guitarist began teaching himself the guitar at age 12. He initially played acoustic Blues and early Country music, then, after hearing Charlie Christian on a Benny Goodman record, he discovered Jazz. He became a professional musician in 1987 and soon began to specialise in acoustic Rhythm guitar playing in the style of George Van Eps, Allan Reuss, Steve Jordan and Freddie Green. He has since accompanied many American and British musicians including; Scott Hamilton, Enrico Tomasso, John Barnes, Kenny Davern, Diz Disley, Bobby Wellins, Stacey Kent, Vince Giordano, Ken Peplowski, Dave Shepherd, Mike Piggott, Keith Nichols and, in his opinion, the greatest living Rhythm guitar player, Marty Grosz. He has also played with Martin Wheatleys' Arcadians and Paul Laceys' Back to Basie Orchestra.
