The Syrian Musicians - Syrian Duo / Trio
These UK Syrian musicians work in collaboration with a Syrian Community Group that celebrates cultural diversity and supports those who have sought refuge here from the war in Syria.
The percussionist has over 40 years’ experience as a musician. Since arriving in the UK as a refugee in 2017 he has toured extensively with the Orchestra of Syrian Musicians, Damon Albarn, Gorillaz, performing at Glastonbury and Womad festivals. He has also been taking part in a new ongoing multi-disciplined arts project commissioned by Glyndebourne opera, on the theme of migration.
The oud player and singer is from one of Syria’s most highly respected musical families and the two musicians have been busy since their arrival in the UK with concerts including The Royal Festival Hall, and festivals across the South of England.
