He has played in folk groups in Scotland from the age of 11 who’s members have become players in leading Scottish bands such a ‘Capercaille’ and ‘Shoogleniffty’ and with leading jazz players such a Courtney Pine in the ‘Grand Union Orchestra’. His ability to play both folk and jazz creates a unique fiddle style.

The guitarist played acoustic guitar with ‘Golage’, in Brighton, which later formed ‘Stomp’ an extremely successful percussion, performance group that have toured the world, playing on Broadway in New York and the Royal Festival Hall in London. His vast range of techniques, from bluegrass fingerpicking to a driving syncopated Irish rhythm style gives a rich harmony to their repertoire.

The percussionist was a member of the influential punk group ‘Peter and the Test Tube Babies’ - his playing provides the power-house behind their sound.

The London Irish Band regularly plays at balls, weddings, parties and corporate events as well as Barn Dances and Ceilidhs with a dance caller to teach the steps.

The London Irish Band - Irish band Feedback

The Jolage played at our wedding recently in Lichfield, they had travelled up from London especially. We were really impressed with their set and talent. I would highly recommend for an occasion. All our guests commented on how fantastic they sounded. So happy we booked them.

Helen Pestridge,

I booked the band to play for my wedding and I was astonished by their ability to play almost any genre of music. They have a really lively act and are very down-to-earth, polite and professional to work with. It was clear that they really love playing music and their energy and enthusiasm infused the whole evening. The wedding reception was running late with the speeches and food, so they wandered around the tables playing violin and guitar acoustically before they played their evening set….It was magical. If I ever get married again they will be my band of choice!!

Joseph Marshall,

Just wanted to say a big thank you for making Katie’s 18th so special. Everyone loved the music and the fact that you have a unique sound. Will be recommending you to our friends and family. All the Best!

Patricia Kemp,

I was dubious booking before I had heard them properly but was THRILLED with their performance. They made the evening, they were friendly, lively, play every type of music and a proper treat. I would highly recommend them and now have to find an excuse for another party to get them back a second time! Thank you!

Christina Wild,

They were absolutely brilliant and exactly what we were after. This was a big corporate party for a young audience and they were fun and a modern take on a ceilidh band. I highly recommend them for any event as they would be great regardless of audience.

Fiona Day (Event Organiser),

If you're looking for a band who can come onstage to a marquee full of people quietly chatting and drinking and within minutes turn them into full-scale dance Machine with everybody in the place laughing and enjoying themselves, Then I think Jolage might be the act for you. Guests at our event (fundraising) ranged from 20s to 60s, But all were captivated by the humour professionalism and generally good time emanating from rom the band. For a 3 piece they also a pack a monster sound, and over the course of three sets in one evening they played not only the Gay Gordons and other traditional stuff but also sex and drugs and rock'n'roll and people are strange by The Doors – not something you hear from average ceilidh band. I would highly recommend them if you’re having any kind of function we want to get the whole crowd involved. Oh and did I mention they’re very nice guys as well?

Nick Morris (Filmaker),

I just wanted to follow up. The music for Laura and Ray's wedding and the night before were just amazing! Thanks for all that you did to make the wedding a complete success! This was my first wedding in England but for sure will be calling you for anything else we may have across the pond. Thank you again! Just perfection!

Engaging Events (Wedding Organiser),

Jolage's music was irresistibly danceable. Their energetic and extremely skilled performance created a highly festive air. Their interpretations of folk music were as original as it was entertaining. I would not hesitate in recommending this hugely professional band.
