The Welsh String Duo
This Welsh string duo have many years of professional experience, having performed at concert venues such as St James Palace, St Davids Hall, the Albert Hall and many others. They have performed for HRH Prince of Wales, Kiri Te Kanawa, and Katherine Jenkins, as well as many other artists from the worlds of classical and popular music.
Their aim for all their clients is very simple; to provide great music along with a friendly and professional service and help ensure that your event is a truly memorable one.
The Violinist was born and brought up in Cardiff, and is a graduate of the Royal College of Music, London. She has since pursued a freelance career which has enabled her to play in many Orchestras and Chamber groups including National Symphony Orchestra, Welsh Sinfonia and New Queens Hall Orchestra. She has also played at St James Palace for Prince Charles, at Wigmore Hall London, and has accompanied artists such as Katherine Jenkins and Dame Kiri Te Kanawa.
The Cellist began learning the cello at the age of eight. After progressing through the various orchestras in her home town of Gloucester, she continued her studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where she gained ber BA (Hons) degree in Music with distinction. She then went on to accept a place at the Royal College of Music in London and gained her Post Graduate Diploma in performance in solo/ensemble recital.
As a freelance cellist, she has performed with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Orchestra West, the Orchestra of the Swan, the Welsh Sinfonia, the National Concert Orchestra of Wales, the National Chamber Orchestra of Wales, Sinfonia Cymru and many more. Abigail was chosen to give a private performance for HRH the Prince of Wales at the opening of the Sir Anthomy Hopkins Centre at the Royal Welsh College of Music.
