The Newcastle Flamenco Guitarist - Flamenco Guitarist
The Newcastle Flamenco Guitarist plays his own compositions which are influenced by the great players of flamenco jazz today such as Gerardo Nunez, Paco De Lucia, Tomatito, Antonio Rey, Miguel Angel Cortes and Vicente Amigo.
He was taught traditional flamenco by Dr Paco Bethencourt Llobert, flamenco musicologist and flamenco guitar player and has developed a unique blend of flamenco, jazz and world music in his compositions.
Each concert will take you on a journey through traditional flamenco palos such as Solea, Sevillanas and Alegrias to modern interpretations of Bulerias and Tangos and Taranta with a good helping of Jazz, Latin, African and Moorish influences.
The Newcastle Flamenco Guitarist is a member of a Flamenco Collective and has played with them on many occasions in concerts including dancers and singers. He has also played for flamenco dance classes at Dance City in Newcastle upon Tyne.
As a duo he performs with a percussionist who is a music graduate from Newcastle University. They have played at flamenco and Latin music festivals in the north including concerts for Vamos Latin Music Festival in Newcastle upon Tyne and The Mouth of the Tyne Festival.
The Newcastle Flamenco Guitarist also provides flamenco workshops for schools with a flamenco dancer in the North East of England.
