The Aeolian String Quartet - String Quartet

This act all live in East Anglia, but their work as professional musicians means they travel fairly extensively throughout London and the Home Counties. They were all trained in the elite London Music Colleges and since then have embarked on busy careers, playing with such orchestras as the BBC Radio Orchestra, D’Oyley Carte Opera Company, Sadlers Wells and the National Symphony Orchestra.

Work also includes playing in West End Shows such as Les Miserables, Aspects of Love, West Side Story and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and they have performed at the opening of Shadingfield Hall and at Stephen Fry's birthday party. They are also actively involved in teaching and training young musicians in Suffolk and Hertfordshire. They have an extensive and versatile repertoire to entertain you with. Music ranges from Renaissance dances, through Baroque, Classical, Romantic and on to modern music, incorporating tunes from shows or popular music.

Their repertoire is constantly expanding and if they do not have your particular favourite, they will find it for you!

Styles vary from Renaissance tunes, Baroque favourites such as Vivaldi and Handel or the classical quartets of Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven. Set the mood with romantic Kreisler or sit back and relax with popular songs ranging from Gershwin to the Beatles.

The Aeolian String Quartet - String Quartet Feedback

Excellent and more than I expected.

Liz Bower, The Pheasant Hotel, Kelling, Wedding (October 2023)

We just wanted to say the biggest thank you to you for what we can only describe as the most wonderful & personal performance. Everyone commented how wonderful you were & the selection of songs & the quality of your performance was out- standing. When you played Bewitched during dinner, Dad & I actually had tears in our eyes & felt choked (music is a great part of our lives). We wish you all the best for your future success & happiness.

Ali & Mark Dowsett,

Ben and myself wanted to say a big thank you to you for playing at our wedding at Spains Hall. It really made everything feel even more special hearing the music we’d chosen played so beautifully. Many of our guests commented on how lovely it was to have live music. Many thanks again for making our day special. Good luck to you all for the future.

Ben and Rachel Hatchard,

Many thanks to you all for providing such beautiful music at our daughter’s wedding on Saturday. The music during the ceremony brought yet another lump to my throat and completed a perfect setting after the ceremony. My apologies for being too distracted to thank you on the day but be assured we all thought you were wonderful.

Marilyn Smith,

...helped make my 50th birthday party one of the most memorable and happy evenings of my life. I recommend them warmly to anyone who wants to add a touch of class and character to their event

Stephen Fry,

The performers arrived on time, were charming, extremely easy to host and played beautifully. Jo sent in their programme and biographies in good time for the publicity. It was a lovely afternoon and we appreciated their programme which was entirely appropriate and their playing was excellent.
