Alexandra Kent - Harpist
This wedding harpist is well known in the South of England for her beautiful harp music. Her repertoire of classical, traditional and modern classics together with the clear tone of the harp make an excellent combination for entertaining your guests.
She studied the harp at The Hindhead School of Music and The Royal College of Music and past bookings include:
- The New Forest Show (For H.R.H Princess Anne)
- Lancaster House (For the American Ambassador)
- HMS Invincible (Special Guest Jim Davidson)
- House Party for Reg Presley
- BBC Radio Solent
- Several other naval bookings (HMS Invincible, HMS Victory, HMS Warrior)
- Corporate functions at top London Hotels (Hilton Hyde Park, Millennium Gloucester, Grosvenor etc.)
- Provincial Orchestra's, shows & musicals
A typical wedding itinerary:
The Ceremony
Guests Arrive
Usually 10 - 15 minutes of mainly classical pieces as your guests are being seated.
Bridal Entrance
A piece of your choosing either from her repertoire list or something special to you.
Signing of the register
Two or three chosen pieces while you sign the register
Bridal Exit
As with the Bridal entrance
Guest Depart
Continue playing until the guests have left the ceremony room.
Please note:
Civil ceremonies may not contain pieces of religious music.
Church weddings pose no additional problems with respect to moving the harp between venues.
Drinks Reception
As well as the ceremony you may wish to have harp music during your drinks reception. On fair weather days this may be outdoors, with suitable safeguards against the weather this is not a problem.
Wedding Breakfast
As with the drinks reception she plays a more varied selection of pieces, see the repertoire list below, although this is not a comprehensive list.
She will continue playing usually with one short break until the speeches or if these are earlier, the coffees.
