The East Sussex Oud Player is available for bookings across the South East and London, and has many years of experience performing for weddings, functions, concerts and recording sessions. He can be booked solo or with a percussionist.
Alongside his performances on the oud, The East Sussex Oud Player also plays guitar, bozuki/cittern, mandolin, bass, piano, violin, percussion and more and is equally at home in jazz, classical, experimental, pop, funk, world music.
The East Sussex Oud Player is a multi-instrumentalist and composer who weaves Arabic melodies, original compositions, and improvisations on the oud. With musical references to the Middle East, Bulgaria, medieval Spain, blues and Saharan funk, new pieces, and ancient melodies are springboards for improvisation.
The East Sussex Oud Player is a multi-instrumentalist and composer of many scores for dance, theatre, ballet and film and regularly collaborates with choreographers on the creation of new commissions for dance, including Arthur Pita and Morgann Runacre-Temple. His music has been created on such notable dancers as Natalia Osipova, Ivan Vasiliev, Sergei Polunin, Jonathan Goddard, Edward Watson and Wendy Whelan.
