The Scottish Lutenist - Lutenist
The Scottish Lutenist studied under lutenist Elizabeth Pallet, and holds a Master of Arts degree in music from the University of Bristol, specialising in European music from the renaissance era.
Now living near Edinburgh, The Scottish Lutenist has performed music from John Dowland, Francesco da Milano, Joan Ambrozio Dalza, Anthony Holborne, and many other lute composers of the renaissance.
In addition, he has a keen interest in sacred, medieval, and baroque music relating to the lute, and has studied various techniques and pedagogies for authentic historical performance. He is a keen ensemble instrumentalist, and has worked with the Dowland Trio, an ensemble dedicated to the music of English composer John Dowland.
The Scottish Lutenist is available for any musical requirements, including recitals, wedding events, private functions, museum/historical events and productions. He is musically versatile and will cater repertoire to the needs of the client.
