Stefan Nyman - Classical Guitarist

Born in 1980, this Oxfordshire classical guitarist's early training began at the age of 9 in Lincoln, where he studied classical guitar with his teachers Robert Johns and Graham Tacon.

He went on to study music at school and later auditioned to study for a Bachelor of Music degree at the Birmingham Conservatoire under the instruction of two renowned concert guitarists, Simon Dinnigan and Mark Ashford. He spent four years in Birmingham and qualified with a BMus (Hons) Classical Guitar.

During his training he was successful in winning a number of classical guitar competitions including the Lincolnshire Music Festival 1998, and later the Classical Guitar Prize, adjudicated by Gerald Garcia at the Birmingham Conservatoire 2002. In 2003 he performed and recorded Mauro Giuliani’s concerto in A major, for guitar and string quartet. He has performed solo in a number of national venues including the CBSO Centre Birmingham and the Royal Albert Hall London. He continues to perform in venues across the UK.

He plays a Christopher Dean guitar made in Oxfordshire 2002.
