Looking for a Ceilidh Rock Band in Scotland? The Scottish Ceilidh Rock Band is one of Scotland’s premiere Ceilidh and cover bands, they perform funky, up-tempo ceilidh music with a rocky twist. Many of their ceilidh tunes have been composed in a neo-traditional style by band members, and when added to their array of purely traditional tunes, this makes for the interesting and unexpected sets which ceilidh dancers can’t help but love!

Music in The Scottish Ceilidh Rock Band is lead by our virtuoso fiddler Phil, with a powerful rhythm section of lead guitar, bass guitar, keyboards and drums. All dances are led on the floor by our Ceilidh Dance instructor Gillian who has taught ceilidh dancing all over the world including most countries in Europe, Taiwan and USA.

Gillian was taught and competed in the art of Highland Dance from the age of 3yrs, which culminated in her gaining the title of Senior Scottish Highland Dance Champion for 3 years. Over the years Gillian has had a very successful Highland dance school and performing dance troupe. She continues to enjoy teaching ceilidh dances where the emphasis is "a full dance floor with everyone  dancing having fun and enjoying the music". Gillian ensures that those who have never done a ceilidh dance in their lives still have a ball, and that the "experts" don’t get bored waiting until she organizes the beginners, a difficult balance to achieve.

The Scottish Ceilidh Rock Band evening's usually culminating in a manic Orkney reel then Loch Lomond or Auld Lang Syne to finish. Whatever your occasion or mood, The Scottish Ceilidh Rock band can provide a mix of music to suit With a quick switch of instruments and the addition of male vocals Best Before Midnight transform into the ideal rock and pop covers band that is excellent for any function or wedding. It is like having two bands for the price of one.  

If required and at an extra charge, the band work closely with a local highly regarded disco and DJ, and this promotes a seamless switch from ceilidh, covers and disco.
