The Scottish Hang Drum Player - Hang Drum / Handpan Player

Looking for a Hang Drum player for a special event or recording session? This performer is based in Edinburgh and has been playing the Hang drum / Handpan since 2000. The sound of a Handpan is very unique and is both calming and uplifting and often used in meditation or to accompany yoga.

She plays a range of original compositions in the styles of folk, blues and jazz and can play some covers adapted to suit her instruments (including Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Pink Floyd). She can also adapt her style to a more meditative style to accompany special yoga events.

She can be booked for as a soloist or as part of a duo with guitar and bass and is available for weddings, funerals and special events as well as for workshops and private lessons.

If you don’t already know, Handpans are are tuned percussion instruments that look strangely like a flying saucer, yet have an unique and soft sound something like a cross between steel drums and a harp.

My Discovery of the Hang

"I fell in love with the Panart Hang in 2008 when a very lovely chap came to lodge with me for a few weeks.  I couldn’t believe the beauty of this instrument which looked like a space ship and sounded like a harp! I immediately knew it was the instrument for me but learning of the difficult journey to attain Hanghang I didn’t imagine that I could ever own one.

A few years later I discovered that a number of people around the world had begun to make  similar instruments, having been so inspired by the Hang. My journey led me to meet many wonderful pan players and makers from around the world and currently I play both Aciel and Panstream handpans."
