The West Coast Trad Duo - Traditional Scottish Duo
This classy fiddle/vocal and guitar duo based in the West Coast Highlands, near the Isle of Skye. They are equally at home playing up-tempo and lively traditional Scottish dance music as providing a comfortably intimate performance or beautifully mellow background music.
They have been at the heart of the Scottish Music scene for almost 30 years and have toured the world, not only as a duo, but with their own bands (Daimh, The Poozies, and Shooglenifty), while clocking up over 100 album appearances as guest artists with names as diverse as Gaelic superstar Julie Fowlis, Alt-country legend Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, Classic crooner Tony Christie, and Grammy-nominated fiddler Casey Driesson.
Rooted in the traditional bagpipe and fiddle music from the West Coast Highlands of Scotland, they play reels and jigs, Gaelic airs and marches that have been passed down by previous generations. They combine this with their own original material, contemporary songs, and more modern compositions.
