The London Bansuri Player - Bansuri Flute Player
The London Bansuri Player offers a wide range of classical and light Indian music for solo or ensemble performances at your wedding, party or formal event. Already being a flautist, he took up the bansuri (bamboo flute) in 1998 as a path into North Indian classical music, and performs as a soloist and with tabla and sitar as duo or trio. He also accompanies vocal and dance performance.
While focusing on classical music, The London Bansuri Player also plays devotional, folk and film songs; please ask if you have a particular request.
Past work includes:
- Nitin Sawney's production of Mahabharata
- Live accompaniment at the BFI for the silent film Prem Sanyas
- Live backing for Kathak dance performances at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan
- Bansuri support for annual Mahalaya performances
- Performance at Art in Action, London Mela, and Brick Lane festivals
- Playing bhajans, folk and film songs at the Hinduja brothers' Diwali celebrations
- Ongoing development of Indian music practice software
