The Devon Guitar & Cello Duo
The Devon Guitar & Cello Duo perform a wide selection of covers and original instrumentals including classical, jazz, rock, pop, Latin and easy listening music.
Ideally suited to weddings and events. The cello & guitar duo also perform acoustic roots/folk and original compositions for acoustic/folk clubs and festivals. All are experienced musicians who individually teach their instrument and have worked with orchestras, string quartets, theatre companies, bands and as solo artistes. For weddings and events. The duo perform an eclectic mix of popular music including classical, rock, pop and jazz.
For weddings and events, the duo perform an eclectic mix of popular music including classical, rock, pop and jazz. They are able to perform as either a duo (guitar & cello) or trio (guitar & 2 cellos).
The Guitarist is the founding Director of Academy of Music & Sound (the UK’s largest national network of rock and popular music colleges) and has a 1st class BA (Hons) degree in Performance Industries. He has performed as a solo guitarist (including sell out performances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival) primarily as an acoustic roots/folk artiste, but also in local duos and bands for over 30 years. He has also been a columnist for ‘Acoustic Magazine’ publishing his acoustic guitar album transcriptions.
The Cellist has a Bachelor of Music from the University of Surrey (Roehampton) and works as a cello teacher and performer. Teaching includes many private students, a performing arts centre for disabled and Ridgeway School Plymouth. She has performed with orchestras, at Notting Hill Carnival, Millenium Dome and Glastonbury Festival. She has also been musical director for a number of theatre productions
The 2nd Cellist studied music at Goldsmiths’ College, University of London, and has been principal cellist for the University of London Symphony Orchestra, Devon County Youth Orchestra and the EMG Symphony Orchestra. Siri has performed at Exeter Cathedral, the Royal Albert Hall and the Royal Festival Hall. Siri also performs regularly with a local string quartet.

We met the duo at a wedding fayre and were immediately struck by how friendly they were, it felt like they were the only people not trying to sell us something! We had never thought about what we might do at the ceremony but after reading the list of songs they could perform and discovering how great value they were it was a no brainer. I ended up being quite late on the day but was very relieved to know our guests were being entertained, we had a drinks reception after the ceremony which they continued to play for, it set the tone for the whole day & everyone was relaxed and happy. We have had so many guests tell us afterwards that they loved the music and were surprised by how contemporary the playlist was, they were playing games with each other trying to guess the songs!, thanks again for a fab day, Love

We saw the duo at a wedding fayre at Haldon Belvedere Castle and thought they would be perfect for our wedding. We were right! The two instruments complimented each other perfectly, and were just ideal for the venue and creating the ambience we wanted.
