Carlos - Spanish, Classical, Blues Guitarist & Vocalist
This extremely versatile guitarist plays everything from Spanish and classical guitar and/or electric guitar and vocals in blues/rock/soul & funk styles - all to a very high standard.
He was born in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England and educated at Bolton School. He studied guitar at the Huddersfield College of Music and later with the eminent Venezuelan guitarist, Alirio Diaz. In 1973 at Huddersfield he formed a highly-successful guitar duo partnership with a vast archive of recordings (they recorded for Teldec Classics, Hyperion, ASV, RCA, Telstar, Box Tree, IMP Classics, Carlton Classics, Erato and many more). The duo have also made numerous broadcasts and have many international tours to their credit.
In 1997 he gave the premiere of his own, "Concerto Primavera" for guitar and marimba with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra under Ian Tracey.
In 1998 he performed Joaquin Rodrigo's, "Concierto de Aranjuez" with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic (cond. Carl Davis) to an audience of 3,500.
He played at the Royal Albert Hall in the 2002 BBC Proms with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.
In addition to these activities, he was also a member of the BBC Northern Radio Orchestra and currently works occasionally with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra playing both classical and electric guitars (recently playing with them in Hyde Park in the Proms in the Park concert (broadcast in December 2002 on BBC1). He has also collaborated with artists as diverse as world famous tenor, Luciano Pavarotti, soprano Lesley Garrett, American mezzo soprano, Denyce Graves, flautist Atarah Ben Tovim, the young British tenor and rising superstar, Russell Watson, rock bands Jethro Tull and Deep Purple and jazz/soul singer, Madeline Bell.
He also has a book published by American publisher Mel Bay Publications. It has been enthusiastically received by the critics and is rapidly becoming a best-seller.

Carlos - Spanish, Classical, Blues Guitarist & Vocalist Feedback
“From the booking to the performance, every part of my experience was on point. He was amazing .
I would recommend him to anyone - 5 stars from me - excellent!
”
“I wanted to book a particular type of guitarist as a surprise for my husband on our wedding day. After searching on the web I found Find a Performer and was pleasantly surprised at the choice of acts they would be able to provide. I also liked that for most acts I could listen to samples of their music on the site to help me choose. Unfortunately the act I had chosen was out of the country on the date but Geoff suggested another act who would be able to provide exactly what I was looking for. The guitarist was a success with my guests - many of whom bought his cd. I would not hesitate in recommending this company to anyone looking for a musician.
