The Sudanese Oud and Vocal Duo formed in 2015 and have since than become a well established act in the South West and beyond. Performances include St.George Brandon Hill Bristol, Eisteddfod International music festival, Colston Hall Bristol and many corporate events.
The oud is one of most ancient and evocative instruments in world music which originated in the Middle East and North Africa. The blend of the two ouds together with Ali’s expressive vocals creates their unique sound.
These performers mainly perform a mixture of traditional and contemporary Sudanese music but can include pieces from the Middle Eastern repertoire if requested.
The London Oud Player
This London Oud Player and Singer is a dedicated oud player and vocalist, specializing in Arabic Tarab music, with a deep connection to the works of Umm Kulthum, Mohammed Abdel Wahab, Sayed Darwish, and other greats.
He studied for eight years at the National Higher Conservatory of Music in Lebanon, gaining a solid foundation in classical Arabic music and performance.
The London Oud Player is always developing, both technically and artistically through private mentorships and regular live performances.
The London Oud Player is continuously exploring new genres while remaining rooted in the emotional depth and improvisational spirit of Tarab, blending tradition with personal expression.

The Iraqi Oud Player
The Arabic Singer & Oud Player was born in Baghdad and graduated from the famous Iraqi Institute of Music Studies (Maqhad Al-Darast Al-Musiqiya) in 1986 specialising in the Oud.
Taught by the renowned Oud players Salem Abdel Karim, Rawhi Khammash and Munir Bashir, he also began to mentor at the institute during his final years of study where great influence was taken from him.
Since arriving in London in 1997, The Arabic Singer & Oud Player has given many concerts across the UK including recitals at Edinburgh, Cambridge and Kingston Universities.
The Turkish Oud Player
This Turkish Oud Player comes from Istanbul and is now based in London and can provide music for Turkish weddings and events. He studied a foundation degree at the conservatory in Istanbul. He has also had lessons from worldwide famous oud masters Yurdal Tokcan, Mehmet Emin Bitmez, Necati Celik.
He plays Ottoman-Turkish style oud and also he can sing Ottoman music. He has performed with numerous famous singers and groups in Turkey, Cyprus, Spain, Germany and England as well as playing as a solo performer with 12 years experience with oud and fretless guitar.
He is available for all kinds of events as well as recording sessions and can be booked as a solo act , with a percussionist, violinist or both.
