10 Buck Boot - Folk Trio

This London folk trio have been together now since 2012 - a handsome trio in the form of mandolin/banjo, guitar and fiddle. They have graced the sessions and folk clubs of London with their dexterous playing and uplifting presence and ventured beyond into festivals and theatres with an array of tunes from around the Isles and across the Atlantic.

In summer of 2014, the London folk trio were joined by Irish singer Ruth, a native of County Tyrone. A vivacious and soulful voice, Ruth has applied her vocal chords to many a genre but her heart belongs to the songs passed down to her.

These fellow musicians played a ceilidh at our wedding in June 2014. They did a wonderful job and all 120 guests danced till they had blisters and had a GREAT time! The caller, had a charming manner when explaining the moves to everyone: clear but relaxed and friendly. The whole band felt like they were part of the party. In advance of the event, He was very sensitive and understanding about what we wanted from the ceilidh and was excellent at liaising with the on-site sound person to make sure the set-up went smoothly on the day. It was a pleasure working with them from start to triumphant finish.

They provided us with a fantastic ceilidh band for our wedding in August 2012. It was a MASSIVE hit. Such a hit, in fact, that our guests asked them to keep playing all night and we never got on to the 3 hour dance playlist I'd spent days compiling! The caller had great presence and enthusiasm and got everyone dancing like seasoned highlanders very quickly. I hadn't met him before the day itself, although we'd spoken on the phone and exchanged emails about what we wanted, yet he and his band fitted in perfectly to the feel and style of the event. They were very flexible about timings, especially when our caterers over ran and they had to wait an hour longer than planned before they could start playing. They were also kind enough to bring the odd lead or plug that our venue wasn't supplying. I have already recommended them (very successfully) for another friend's wedding and wouldn't hesitate to do so again. I couldn't fault them; they were perfect.

Kate Copeland, (August 2012)
