The Derby String Quartet - String Quartet & Trio

This Derbyshire string quartet are well situated to travel throughout the East Midlands and beyond and take great pride in planning programmes from an extensive and versatile repertoire comprising well known classical, jazz and light pop music. They can help you create an elegant atmosphere for your special occasion, whether it be a wedding, garden party, race evening, conference or product launch.

The members have studied at some of Britain’s top Music Schools and Conservatoires including Chethams School of Music, The Birmingham Conservatoire and The Royal Northern College of Music.

This string quartet has performed at a wide range of engagements including a ‘Classical Evening’ at Uttoxeter Race Course, the prestigious Life Magazine’s Annual Awards Dinner, The Mayor’s Civic Dinner and Ball in the Derby Assembly Rooms.

They have entertained at a reception for Princess Anne for the opening of Immingham Docks, and played a Maida Vale studio session for Radio 1 with hip hop artist ‘Baby J’, followed by further appearances on BBC Radio, at London’s iluvlive festival and a nationwide tour with rapper ‘Sway’ and African Drummer Richard Olatunde Baker.

The string quartet has performed regularly as part of the summer music programme in Derby Market Place and as part of the performance programme at the Royal Derby Hospital and performed at the official opening of the Royal Derby Hospital by Her Majesty the Queen.

Individually, members have performed at The Royal Albert Hall, The Royal Festival Hall, The Barbican, Nottingham Theatre Royal, Nottingham Castle, The Bridgewater Hall, Granada Studios, Derby Playhouse, Old Trafford and the Chatsworth House private theatre.

The quartet also performs a popular rock and pop set perfectly suited to beer festivals and party entertainment.
