Andrew Colmes - Caricaturist

As Northern Ireland's first professional caricaturist, this act has been delighting guests for many years at weddings, dinners, festivals and corporate events.

He has been drawing since he could hold a pencil and throughout his schooldays he wiled away many hours drawing cartoons of his teachers and classmates.

Inspired by a love of comics from an early age, people have always been knocking on his door asking for artwork or illustration.

He studied Design at the University of Ulster in Belfast, and worked for many years with the Northern Ireland Court Service designing in-house publications, magazines and corporate documentation. He provided illustration work and was involved with the development of the departmental Intranet. He also became the photographer for the department.

With a desire to spread his creative wings he took a leap of faith and has been working as a freelance caricaturist, artist and designer since 2005. 

His work has appeared in various magazines and newspapers over the years.
